MANAGEMENT

Management's primary mission is to develop the School's scientific and educational policy and to propose to the University's Board of Directors the strategy that will enable it to be implemented. It seeks to preserve the identity of EMINES and to guarantee its excellence.

It is particularly concerned about the development of EMINES and its national and international ambition.

It relies directly on internal and external consultative and advisory structures.

NICOLAS CHEIMANOFF, director

Nicolas Cheimanoff was Director of Education at MINES ParisTech from 2001 to 2013. Prior to that, he headed the Research Center of Geotechnical and Exploitation of Subsoil from 1990 to 2001. He was also Secretary General of the Center for Commodity Studies from 1994 to 2013 and Deputy Director of the Fontainebleau site from 1999 to 2002.

Professor in underground space management at MINES ParisTech since 1995, he graduated from Ecole Polytechnique (class of 1981) and holds a DEA (1985) and a PhD in Techniques and Economics of the Exploitation of Subsoil (1988).

He has been involved in EMINES project since June 2010 and has overseen EMINES project team since September 2011.

MOHAMED BENKAMOUN, EDUCATIONAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR

Mohamed Benkamoun Project Manager of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and Vice-President in charge of research partnerships of this university. He previously served as Chief of Staff to OCP's CEO.

He previously worked as an adviser to the Prime Minister's Office (2007 to 2009 and 1997 to 1998), as Technical Director at the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (1998 to 2000) and served from 1988 to 2007 as Director in various companies in Morocco and France (Telecom Global Group, Bridge Telecom Company, Meditelecom, Forbes Telecom Africa, Alcatel-Alsthom and SOCS).

He holds a PhD from the University of Nice in Electronics and Telecommunications (1988). At the same university, he worked as a teacher-researcher from 1985 to 1988.

He initiated EMINES project which he set up from June 2010.

FRÉDÉRIC FONTANE, DEPUTY DIRECTOR, DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

Frédéric Fontane is the MINES ParisTech Production Systems and Logistics Option Manager. He is also Director of the Specialized master’s in industrial management and Logistics Systems of this institution since September 2012. Previously, he worked as Deputy Head of this same option and master’s since 2001.

He was previously Head of Supply Chain Management at ESCEM (1998 to 2001), and Special Advisor to the Director of ESSEC Management Education from 1995 to 2001. During this period, he was also responsible of "Industrial management" at IPAG and IFG. After starting his career as a production engineer in France and Brazil in the electronics industry (1992 to 1994), he later worked as a consultant in supply chain management and SAP system within the consulting firm Magellis (1994) to 1997).

He holds a degree in Engineering from INSA Toulouse (1991), a DEA in Management Sciences from Paris I - Sorbonne University (1992) and a PhD in Management Sciences from the University of Paris. ESSEC - Aix-Marseille University (1999).

He joined EMINES project team in December 2011.

NABIL MOSLEH, DIRECTOR OF COOPERATION

Nabil Mosleh was Director of Cooperation and Communication of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water - Water Branch (2008 to 2014). He previously held the positions of Head of the Cooperation Division (2003 to 2008) and Head of the Business Relations Department (2002 to 2003).

He holds a DEA in Microelectronics from Paris 7 University (1992) and a PhD in Electronics from Paris Sud University (1996). He began his career as a researcher, responsible for the isotope hydrology laboratory, at the National Center for Energy, Nuclear Science and Technology (1996 to 2001).

He joined EMINES project team in October 2014.
